The chart wheel is divided into twelve houses based on your exact birth time and location, each one associated with a different life area — from identity and money to relationships and career. A planet's house placement is often what makes two people with the same sign feel genuinely different day to day.

House placements are calculated from the same core inputs as your Ascendant — exact birth time and location — since the houses are essentially built outward from the degree that was rising at your birth moment. This is why a professional chart always asks for a precise time: without it, house placements can't be calculated reliably at all.
The Birth Chart Calculator on this site now calculates your full 12-house breakdown, in two systems: Whole Sign (the oldest historical system, where each house is simply the next entire sign starting from your Ascendant) and Equal House (where each cusp sits exactly 30° from the last, starting at your precise Ascendant degree). Both build directly on the same verified Ascendant calculation used for your Rising sign, and the calculator shows which house your Sun and Moon each fall into under both systems.
To be transparent about what's still not included: this doesn't yet cover Placidus, the time-divided system most professional software defaults to — that involves a meaningfully more complex calculation, and getting it reliably right across edge cases (like extreme latitudes) is a bigger undertaking than Whole Sign or Equal House. It also doesn't place the other planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, and beyond) into houses, since those require a full planetary ephemeris this site doesn't calculate today.
